Exhibition Tip: Watch! Watch! Watch! Henri Cartier-Bresson

From June 15 to September 22, 2024, the Bucerius Kunst Forum will present the exhibition "WATCH! WATCH! WATCH! HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON." Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century, is honored in this extensive retrospective with over 240 original prints and numerous publications in illustrated magazines and books.
The exhibition illuminates Cartier-Bresson's diverse body of work, spanning from his surrealist beginnings to political photojournalism and iconic portraits. Special highlights include his documentation of historic events such as the funeral of Mahatma Gandhi and his photographs from the Soviet Union after Stalin's death. His intimate portraits of artists like Coco Chanel and Henri Matisse are also part of the show.
Henri Cartier-Bresson shaped street photography with his keen eye for the "decisive moment," leaving a legacy that has influenced generations of photographers. The exhibition offers a deep insight into the life and work of this extraordinary artist.
