Then We Take Berlin: Streaming First. Campaigns That Deliver Impact.

Consciously breaking away from viewing habits and creating an idea that immediately sticks in the mind: THAT was Then We Take Berlin’s goal for this ZDFneo project. Simplicity as a principle, clarity as a strength: This concept is effective both visually and in terms of content—even across language barriers. 



“We had a lot of fun bringing this to life; the concept lends itself perfectly to being taken to the extreme,” says Nina von dem Bussche, Creative Director and founder of Then We Take Berlin. “Its clarity makes it universally understandable, while the artistic execution opens up a wide range of creative possibilities.” 

The graphic design was created in collaboration with the design agency FEEDMEE, which also developed the current ZDFneo design. Project Manager Norbert Menkel and Sonja Wagener in Project Management are responsible for the project within the ZDF AUDIENCE division. 

Then We Take Berlin, founded in 2011, has evolved over the years into a multi-award-winning creative agency for entertainment marketing. The agency has extensive experience in the international streaming market and a strong network within the industry.

“Data helps us understand viewer behavior—we reach them through emotional appeal,” says Nina von dem Bussche.   

On May 3 in Amsterdam, Nina von dem Bussche will share insights into successful campaigns at the Global Entertainment Marketing Awards Europe (GEMA)—alongside Lee Hobbs (SVP, Head of Creative EMEA, Warner Bros. Discovery). She is also actively involved in the international session planning team alongside colleagues from Netflix, Disney, and Warner Bros., as well as in the EmpowerHer initiative, which aims to empower women in the media industry.

Then We Take Berlin has received numerous accolades—including many national and international awards, as well as two Gold Awards at the Eyes & Ears Awards in the “Best Promotion Campaign for Special Programming” category. In 2025 alone, Then We Take Berlin won nine awards for ZDFneo and 3sat, including at the Global Entertainment Marketing Awards (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and a nomination for “Agency of the Year.”
