While many production companies are currently experimenting with AI tools, Seven. One Studios is taking a step further. With brAInbox, the company is establishing a central AI unit designed to consolidate ideas, technologies, and expertise across the group. The goal is not to treat artificial intelligence as an isolated field of innovation, but to systematically integrate it into everyday production workflows.

The new unit is led by Christian Leitz von Ferrari as Head of AI Production, supported by Markus Untch as Director AI Production. Together, they are responsible for implementing AI-driven processes across all production subsidiaries — including RedSeven Entertainment, Pyjama Pictures, Just Friends, and the international distribution arm Seven. One Studios International.

From Trend to Infrastructure

What stands out is not merely the launch itself, but its strategic anchoring: AI is not positioned outside the core business as an experimental lab, but implemented directly within the “engine room” of content production.

Seven. One Studios is building the initiative around a four-pillar approach:

  • Scouting emerging market trends and tools

  • Workshops and internal training for teams

  • Implementation of production-ready processes

  • Increasing efficiency and quality across workflows

This signals an ambition that goes beyond selective tool adoption. AI is not meant to be tested occasionally — it is meant to be operationalized.

Relevance for Creation, Promotion and Broadcast Design

For the Eyes & Ears community in particular, the key question is what concrete impact such centralization may have. AI-driven workflows no longer affect only script development or data analysis, but increasingly visual design, post-production, and promotion.

In editing, automated rough cuts or transcript-based edit assistance can save time. In graphics and motion design, generative systems enable rapid iterations of layouts and visual variants. In promotion, new possibilities are emerging for data-driven trailer optimization, content versioning, and platform-specific adaptation.

The growing fragmentation of distribution channels — from linear television and streaming platforms to social media — demands flexible and scalable production processes. A centralized AI unit can act as an infrastructural accelerator in this context.

Efficiency or Creative Expansion?

Seven. One Studios emphasizes that brAInbox is not only intended to accelerate processes but also to “open new creative spaces” — whether during pitching, editing, or graphic development. Whether this ambition translates into practice remains to be seen.

Between automation and aesthetics lies a tension the industry is currently renegotiating. AI can reduce repetitive tasks and free up resources. At the same time, questions arise as generative systems increasingly intervene in conceptual and design phases.

For broadcast designers and creatives, this does not necessarily imply displacement, but rather a shift in competencies: curating, prompting, steering, and aesthetic evaluation are becoming central skills.

A Strategic Signal to the Market

With the launch of brAInbox, Seven. One Studios clearly positions itself as a technology-driven player within the production landscape. In an international competitive environment where efficiency, speed, and innovation increasingly determine format development and monetization, the structural integration of AI may become a decisive factor.

Whether brAInbox primarily delivers efficiency gains or truly generates new aesthetic impulses will become evident in future productions. What is already clear, however, is this: AI is no longer conceived merely as a tool — but as part of the production infrastructure.

For the creative and broadcast industry, this marks another step toward a hybrid production culture in which human and artificial intelligence jointly shape the engine room of entertainment.
