The Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam stands as a testament to the rich history and vibrant future of cinema. Situated on the north bank of the River IJ, directly behind Amsterdam’s Central Station, Eye is a striking architectural marvel that has become an iconic landmark in the city.

The museum traces its roots back to the Nederlands Historisch Film Archief (Netherlands Historical Film Archive), which was founded in 1946 with the aim of collecting and preserving films of artistic value. Over the decades, the archive grew exponentially, evolving into the Nederlands Filmmuseum and eventually transforming into Eye Filmmuseum in its current form.
