THE WORLD OF TYPE: Typography Workshop
Typography is a fundamental part of visual communication, across all media, languages and cultures. This two day workshop, hosted by Dalton Maag, is a deep dive into the world of type. The following topics will be covered during the Eyes & Ears Academy: a wide spectrum of information from historic development of the Latin alphabet, over the introduction to global writing systems and the practice of modern day type design, to the challenges for typography in the near future with new and emerging technology. You will learn how to express emotions through type, and produce your own artwork in hands on calligraphy and letter drawing exercises. To make the most of your stay, a typographic tour in the City of London and the British Library will be organised.
