Typography in the Moving Image - Concepts, Innovations, Inspirations
In everysize, on every platform, for every genre – the innovative handling oftypography is of central importance in current motion design. Beyond printdesign, "type in motion" can offer emotional as well as entertainingand informational moving images. However, typographic design is often neglectedand the potential of typography exploited too little.
During thistwo-day event organised by Eyes & Ears of Europe and MDR in Leipzig,outstanding examples of current TV promotion and design, commercials, festivalintros, cinema titles and music videos will be presented. These examples showthat typography in audio-visual media can be used according to differentprinciples. Thus, they are a trigger for developing ideas for future projects.
This event from Eyes & Ears of Europe and MDRis aimed primarily at employees of media and communication companies, (post)production firms, design studios, consultancies, marketing, advertising anddialogue agencies who want to learn more about this topic. Students andtrainees are also very welcome.

Mostrecently senior art director at RTL CREATION. 2009/10 creative director at Bruce Dunlop Associates in Munich. In 2011,founded Lobeck | motion concept, a studio for brandstaging in image, sound and space. Since2012, professorship for visual communications at the AMD Akademie Mode &Design in Düsseldorf. Special teaching post in the field of typography at theUniversity of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and at Bergische Universität inWuppertal. Regular workshops at the FilmakademieBaden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg and at the ifs internationale filmschule köln.Lectures at the Typo Berlin, at the Forum Typographie, at Eyes & Ears ofEurope and at numerous national and international colleges. Various nationaland international awards. Since 2010, head of working group 'Typography' atEyes & Ears of Europe.
