Munich-based branding agency UnitedSenses went above and beyond for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, designing individual TV openers for each of the tournament's 92 games, which were played in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. To make this extensive project realizable, UnitedSenses developed a smart 3D branding system. The agency produced drone footage in the three host cities - Jakarta, Manila and Okinawa - and filmed children playing basketball in an Extended Reality (XR) LED studio, allowing UnitedSenses to adjust the backgrounds in each Unreal scene down to the smallest detail such as lighting mood. The respective edits were then transferred to a Unreal setup, which allowed the team to create the individual match-ups for each gameday just in time. Each individual TV opener is populated by oversized 3D graphics that float within the stunning drone footage of the cities. For the openers, UnitedSenses produced a World Cup version of the FIBA anthem.

The broadcast branding is completed with an extensive live graphics package. Countless elements - all designed and produced to promote basketball and celebrate the national pride of the 32 teams. The FIBA Basketball World Cup was held from August 25 to the final day on September 10 and ended with a legendary victory of the German national basketball team. Read Case Study
