When watching a movie, one often wonders whether the dynamics would be better if the beginning was at the end and the end at the beginning. Unfortunately, your imagination can rarely simulate the final result. So, what to do? In the best case: Boot up the computer, import the film, edit it and watch the result. But what if you don't know how to edit?

Through simple but effective means, the participants of this Eyes & Ears Academy will receive an introduction to the topic 'film editing' – and can practice on the provided iMacs.

The workshop provides insight into

• use of the Final Cut Pro X editing programme
• various editing techniques
• working with sound
• simple transitions
• exporting (e.g. to YouTube)

After the two practice days in the cutting room, participants will be able to edit simple stories independently and know how to use the new and diverse possibilities of film editing for themselves.

This event from Eyes & Ears of Europe and n-tv in Cologne is aimed primarily at employees of media and communication companies, (post) production firms, design studios, consultancies, marketing, advertising and dialogue agencies who are not familiar with film editing or have limited editing experience and specific questions on the topic. Persons interested in the media, students and trainees are also very welcome.
